About Me

I am trained in applied physics, focusing on computational biophysics.
I have a PhD in Biophysical Chemistry under Dr. Wilma Olson from Rutgers University, where I’ve also earned Masters in both general physics and computational biology. An enthusiastic self-proclaimed ‘nerd’, I love learning new computational methods as scientific programming is relatively new to me.
New directions I want to pursue include molecular dynamics, bioinformatics, and biophysical data science.

I’m passionate about the collegiate experience: education, research, and mentorship.
My ultimate career goal is to be a professor where I can teach both introductory and upper-level courses and run a computational research lab.
I spent the 2023 calendar year as an assistant clinical professor with the First-year Innovation Research Experience program at the University of Maryland, where I lead a led a 40-student research stream devoted to Genome Computing.
I’m a regular recitation instructor for introductory chemistry courses and have created over 100 problem solving tutorial videos.

I’m a big sports lover, but if there’s one sport I love more than all others it’s curling.
An avid curler since 2014, I have competed in multiple competitions, from local friendly competitions, club-level bonspiels, and national-level qualifiers.
I’m a USCA-certified Level 2 official, having officiated at the 2024 USA National Championships, and am a Level 1 instructor.
I’ve also been a coach for a U-18 competitive team for over 3 years.
I am currently a member of the Potomac Curling Club who play at the National Capital Curling Center in Laurel, MD (www.curldc.org).
